… And I’m not talking about the museum…
Or Mike and Reuben for that matter…
The PWC has recently had its first few Relics demonstration games, using the lovely rules set and miniatures from Tor Games.
Relics is set in a gloriously macabre parallel universe, where the relentless armies of King Jorge, monarch of the mighty Britanan Empire have forced the ancient Faeries to come out of seclusion and take drastic, desperate measures to eliminate the human threat… With catastrophic consequences to themselves, and many other races caught in the wake of their dark and twisted Maaj.
The four separate races are devolved and warped representations of four of the most familiar wargaming races; the Nuem are stunted dwarves, each addicted to pain and fanatical in their self flagellation – to the extent of locking themselves into pain giving exo-suits; the Vattier might have been a proud and noble Elfin race once, but are now so twisted into the skien of the world, that elemental forces tear through their skin; the Orcnar were once honourable and true, but the Maaj has left them a brutal, impure and corrupt vision of muscle and rock; whilst the Britanan Empire- almost all dead now due to the incantations wrought by the Vattier, has been resurrected by the insane King Jorge in the form of ensorcelled puppets in Napoleonic uniforms – a stitch work horde sweeping across the world.
The Peterborough Wargames Club is host to a small but growing collective of Relics players, with regular demonstration games occurring since the end of 2014. We hope to see many more in the coming year! Veterans and beginners all welcome!
For those interested, Tor are currently running a free online promotion with the chance of winning a Relics Rulebook, and a sizable selection of blister packs – suitable for the beginner or the grizzled player looking to bolster their forces – For a chance of winning – click here!
Best of luck!
